The first annual Western Slope Pagan Pride Day. This is a public event aimed at increasing acceptance and tolerance through education and activism. For The Nightbird Band's part, from 12:40 to 2:40 p.m. added in fantastic local dancers of a variety of different types--Tango, Waltz, belly dance (fusion and Egyptian styles), flamenco, and modern-interpretive. The use of different styles and beats makes The Nightbird's sound truly world, with flavors of Celtic. This event also features another local artist, Eldreth, doing some classic Celtic tunes and awesome flamenco-style guitar. He appears from 11:00 to 11:45. At 12:00 p.m., we have a special guest speaker, Samuel Baseler, metaphysician, healer, and sage. The final band is a group called Heartbeat, whose pieces Dragonfly and Blood Moon are personal favorites of Susan Cypher, leader of The Nightbird Band.

Right now the details are sketchy, but I will be performing for 1 hour either in the Student Center at Mesa State College 12th and Elm Avenue (Ziegel/Krei Room) or outside in the quad. Music will be goddess-oriented, Celtic in origin, pagan/Wiccan friendly, as is all my music, with some storytelling both spoken and sung.
